Update to GeeksOnTime Does Not Pay
Somebody was nice enough to draw my attention back to my own blog a couple of days ago; I am sorry I have neglected it for so long!
GeeksOnTime STILL has not paid me. Not a dime. And, while I had heard and was emailed that I was to be paid, I am still waiting. And waiting. And waiting. (sigh)
But, as is pointed out in various emails I have picked up and in search engine results, I was apparently right. This is becoming a habit! They aren’t paying anybody…one poor tech says he has been waiting for 6 months on a paycheck. When he contacted them, he (or she) got the same runaround I did. The whole story about “we will pay you next week.” Then when no pay came in, same line again. Until that tech’s calls and mails were completely ignored.
Seriously, GeeksOnTime, what is going on? you are lucky enough to have had some knowledgeable techs at your disposal. People who would reschedule their own service calls to accommodate your customers promptly. And you don’t pay these people? Some of them have called me, some have emailed, and hopefully they will continue to post information online so other techs don’t have to deal with the stress and hassle of not being paid. I just keep referring them back to Venus McNabb and Daniel Matalon on most of these occasions; after all, I can’t help them! I can’t even get my own pay! Obviously, some of them still are hoping; they are posting anonymously in hopes of not irritating the person who writes the checks. Sounds to me like GeeksOnTime techs may soon be in short supply though. And, these techs are essential to the operation of GeeksOnTime.
In the meantime, I hope all the techs who are owed money somehow do manage to get paid. In the meantime, check out ripoffreport.com to see what some other people have posted. And, if you wish to post here, your personal information will not be shared. Just try to keep any swearing to a minimum, please!

I posted a report. I have also created a google group for anyone else who has not been paid and wants to get together:

I got paid after finding Venus McNabb’s email and talking to her. You can see her email address if you do a whois lookup on geekontime’s site. Or join the google group (click website link) and I’ll try to help people through that.
Thanks to the author of this blog… knowing someone else was in the same boat gave me a bit more confidence to not give up on this one.

I’m a small computer business owner and we have performed work as a subcontracted techs for Geeks On Time since 2005 and haven’t had any problems until I noticed we werent getting paid for jobs in November 2007.
What hurts more is I feel we provided excellent service and performed many miracles for their commercial and residential customers receiving a lot of praise for my work from them. I have even had customers personaly request me for work and have had to decline offers to work for them directly.
I did a few larger jobs and had actually used my own money to purchase parts in advance expecting to get reimbursed. Now I’m owed over $2500.00 by them and haven’t gotten a dime. I have made attempts to contact Venus McNabb with no response. I have also had many fruitless conversations with Daniel Matalon. He basically said that I’m on his list of priorities and even if I went the legal route they still don’t have the money to pay me. I have also heard 3 different stories, that GOT has had accounting errors to be resolved, GOT has bought another business, and that Geeks On Time has been bought by another business. Regardless, it shouldn’t take over 9 months to get paid for good honest work.
As a result, I have had to politely decline dispatchers that I will no longer even consider accepting any more work until I get paid. It’s a shame that such nice people, a good business model, and solid reputation is starting to go downhill in flames. I’m very reluctant to ever talk negatively about a business because I would never want my reputation to be questioned but, with all the information I’ve been reading in various places on the internet about techs and employees alike not receiving pay it does not look good. If we don’t act fast and take the legal route Geeks On Time may be out of business before we even have a chance to recover. Comments and replies are welcome…

Man, I thought it was just me. my company hasn’t been paid correctly or on-time in the 3years we’ve done work for them.
They currently owe us for 3 jobs and won’t return emails or calls now. I think we should just bill the clients we did the work for so they will in turn complain to Geeks. Hopefully, this would even “help” them lose national accounts.
