I just thought I had to throw this in, because I have been asked so many times now. A couple of times a day, I get asked “Why did you call your blog about GeeksOnTimeĀ  SingleMomExtraMoney.com?” Ok, in real life, it isn’t intended to be all about GeeksOnTime, all the time. Now, it did prove to be a good place to vent my irritation about the whole pay situation. I am a single mom, and I don’t get child support. So, I got hit pretty hard when they did what they did. And, thanks to all you guys out there who have sent me YOUR thanks in letting you know you were NOT the only one this happened to. I knew I wasn’t the only one, but I do appreciate hearing from you guys.

Anyway, one day I was talking with a friend, and we were whining about how hard it is sometimes to make some extra cash if you’re a single parent. I mean, it’s almost impossible sometimes to find a 2nd job around your current schedule, especially once you start throwing kids & extracurricular activities into the mix. There’s tons of web sites out there that have some great ideas, but none that we were really thrilled with, and several, of course, that looked like scams.

Now, I’m one of those people who does occasionally have to struggle financially, but things usually work out. Lucky for me, I’m that fabulous combination of being tough and smart :) I can usually come up with some way to scope out some extra money pretty quickly if I need to. I’ve used the ideas in this post in the past. I have to say, for short term quick results, passing business cards out to people face to face can have some pretty quick results, and if you do a good job the first time around, you’ll get referrals and repeat business, too. When I get around to it, I’ll post some more resources. There’s plenty of things you can do, and get paid immediately.

Anyway, just thought I neded to clarify the name of the site some. Small side project, intended to be worked on over several months, then all of a sudden I’m getting lots of traffic (and questions about the name!) So, that’s how it is, and eventually GeeksOnTime will no longer be such a hot topic. By then though, I promise to have the REAL content in place.
