Crazy Busy
Well, we got moved, and finally got settled in! In addition to my consulting projects, I did end up getting a “real job.” Ick. Actually, at first it didn’t seem so bad. Two 6 hour shifts per week, same days every week, and so on. Pays well for the work. It basically didn’t seem to be any big deal, but was definitely enough to keep food on the table in between consulting gigs. And, the whole point was just to bring in a little extra cash.
So, all seems to be going well, my work is easily scheduled around trying to unpack and get settled in, right? Not so much! All of a sudden, this job needs me at least 5 days a week. Then I come home to my little wreck of a house that needs to be unpacked & organized, take care of kids, take care of dogs, try to squeeze in a meal and some sleep…ugh!
So this is not the kind of life I was shooting for…at all! Part of the point of moving was to move my crew into a nicer home, with better schools, and so on. Well, all that is great! Unless you don’t have the time to enjoy it. Which I didn’t. I mean, I worked my little part time job and my consulting business on the side for 26 days straight. With only about 3 hours of sleep for each of those days. That is just way too much for me to deal with.
So, now I’m back and ready to start experimenting with other ways to make steady extra cash, preferably passive income. Now don’t get me wrong – I will work really, really hard, and meet my deadlines no matter what it takes. But the exhaustion I felt from working that hard, for that long was absolutely not worth it. I mean, I seriously just felt like my brain was not working for days afterwards.
So, the side hustles on here are good for some extra cash or quick cash, so I’ll keep posting those. I think, though, that I’m going to start looking at ways to make money online, and some other steady business ideas, too. This should be interesting!
